On May 7th, at the launch ceremony of the "Overall Plan for the Construction of the Global Manufacturing Center in Dongguan (2026 - 2030)", all the attending guests wore a pair of lightweight and fashionable AI glasses together, and the entire process of information presentation, interaction and release was completed through intelligent wearable devices. This was the world's first official press conference held throughout the process using AI glasses, and the core product that supported this innovative "debut" was the AI smart glasses independently developed by the local enterprise in Dongguan - Silek Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Silek").

This AI glasses device weighs only 48 grams, as light as a feather. It adopts dual-lens integrated diffraction light waveguide technology and supports an ultra-long battery life of 10 hours. It is equipped with the Flyme AI large model, featuring real-time translation, travel navigation, notification reminders, and voice interaction functions. It can support near-real-time translation in 144 languages. From hardware to system, from design to mass production, the entire process was carried out in Dongguan. On the day after the press conference, Xu Asong, the chairman of Shilek, welcomed a continuous stream of customers to his office. How could an enterprise that has specialized in digital storage for nearly 20 years "go viral" overnight? The answer lies in a bold cross-border transformation.

In 2005, Xu Asong started his business in Dongguan from a small USB drive factory and turned Sledge into a high-tech enterprise with over 10,000 products and global sales. Facing the smart wearable technology trend, he decisively entered the AI glasses field and invested hundreds of millions of yuan in research and development. Relying on the "one-hour industrial supporting circle" in Dongguan, he overcame the three major industry pain points of miniaturization, battery life, and computing power. In 2026, Sledge launched the world's lightest AI translation glasses, weighing only 25 grams, and was the first in the industry to apply solid-state batteries, achieving continuous 20-hour calls.
Currently, Sloop has developed three eyewear series: audio, video, and AR, covering six scenarios including tourism and culture, healthcare, law enforcement, industry, office, and outdoor. It has become a core supplier for brands such as Mingchuang Youpin and Lenovo, with an annual shipment volume exceeding 1 million units. In 2026, the company will fully establish its own brand SNOKO and strive to achieve the goal of becoming a "benchmark enterprise for lightweight smart glasses".

"Dongguan is a fertile ground for entrepreneurship and a nurturing environment for intelligent manufacturing." Xu expressed his sentiments. Currently, Dongguan is accelerating the construction of a "city of universal scenario innovation". The success of the Sloopk AI glasses is a vivid illustration of how local intelligent manufacturing, through scenario innovation, has unleashed new productive forces.
The data shows that by 2025, the global shipment of AI glasses will reach 8.7 million units. Among them, enterprises in Dongguan will account for over 4 million units, accounting for nearly half of the global market. From contract manufacturing to self-owned brands, from "the world's factory" to "the global manufacturing center", a series of AI glasses produced in Dongguan are enabling the world to witness the unlimited possibilities of Chinese manufacturing.
