China's first industry standard for smart glasses will be unveiled in Shenzhen, with a 2 billion yuan industrial fund being launched simultaneously

Reporters learned at the press conference for the 4th Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo and the 2026 Global AI Eyewear Expo that this year’s event will be held from June 16 to 18 in Halls 8 and 9 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian), where the country’s first industry standard for smart eyewear (draft) will also be released.

This year’s exhibition spans 22,500 square meters and attracts over 300 participating companies, showcasing both traditional and smart eyewear products. Hall 8 focuses on the entire smart eyewear industry chain, while Hall 9 features a wide range of finished eyewear products. The exhibition also highlights specific application scenarios for smart eyewear in sectors such as culture and tourism, industry, and education, aiming to address practical challenges in their implementation.

It is reported that this year’s exhibition will see the release of the nation’s first draft industry standard for smart glasses, which will define overall technical requirements as well as standardized interfaces and protocols. This initiative aims to facilitate interoperability among products from different companies in areas such as optical modules, communication protocols, and data formats. Additionally, the first smart glasses industry fund, with a total scale of 2 billion yuan, will be launched to support technological innovation, commercialization, and the transformation of traditional eyewear enterprises.

Shenzhen is home to one of the country’s most concentrated clusters of eyewear manufacturers. Over decades of development, the Henggang and Yuanshan districts of Longgang have established a comprehensive eyewear industry chain and a skilled workforce. This edition of the exhibition presents multiple opportunities in design, technology, and standards for eyewear enterprises in Longgang and across Shenzhen. It features exchange sessions with top eyewear designers from China and Europe to promote the fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics with smart technology. The event brings together core component manufacturers and complete-product service providers for smart eyewear, enabling complementary technical and manufacturing capabilities to facilitate the transition from traditional frame production to comprehensive smart eyewear solutions.

Furthermore, the exhibition has enhanced its corporate site visit program by adopting a “exhibition hall + factory” integrated model. It organizes professional buyers from home and abroad to visit outstanding local manufacturing and brand enterprises in Shenzhen for on-site inspections and exchanges. This approach transforms short-term exhibition traffic into long-term client relationships and a pipeline of orders, deeply integrating Longgang’s traditional eyewear manufacturing heritage with the innovative vitality of smart eyewear. This synergy is converted into core market competitiveness, propelling Shenzhen’s eyewear industry toward a new journey of high-quality development.
