On May 25, the Guangdong Society of Precision Medicine Applications officially issued a notice soliciting public comments on a group standard. The *Clinical Application Guidelines for Wearable Devices in the Monitoring of Cardiovascular Diseases*, proposed and edited by Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, has been finalized and is now open for public comment. The following day, the Society issued an announcement regarding the standard’s official title, which was formally designated as “Clinical Application Specifications for Wearable Devices in Cardiovascular Disease Monitoring.” This marks China’s first clinical application specification focused on smart wearable devices in the field of cardiovascular disease monitoring. It will provide a standard framework for the regulated use of wearable devices—such as smartwatches and fitness trackers—in the healthcare sector, and is expected to drive the evolution of wearable devices from “consumer electronics” to “quasi-medical devices.”
