Connecting with Silicon Valley, Expanding into North America! Smart Wearables and AI Application Exchange Conference Held in Bao'an

On May 18, the Smart Wearables and AI Application Matchmaking Exchange was successfully held at the Huizhi R&D Center.

The event was co-hosted by the Shenzhen Federation of Industry and Commerce and the U.S.-China Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and organized by the Bao’an District Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Bao’an Industrial Development Group, and the Shenzhen Smart Wearables Industry Association. All parties actively brought together Chinese and foreign enterprises to focus on the fields of smart wearables and AI applications, conducting targeted matchmaking and exchanges based on mutual needs to facilitate cross-border industrial collaboration and innovation.

The event centered on the core sectors of smart wearables and AI-enabled applications. Silicon Valley possesses world-class AI R&D capabilities, while Shenzhen holds significant advantages in AI scenario implementation and smart manufacturing. Together, they form a complementary “technology R&D + scenario application” framework, laying a solid foundation for cross-border cooperation.

A representative from the Shenzhen Federation of Industry and Commerce noted that as a hub for science and technology innovation and a leading industrial city, Shenzhen boasts a vibrant private sector and a well-developed industrial chain. The city hopes to use this matchmaking event as an opportunity to help Chinese and American enterprises break down information barriers and establish a sustainable cooperation framework. The Bao’an District Investment Promotion Bureau presented the local business environment, highlighting available industrial space and policy incentives to provide strong support for the implementation of cross-border projects. The U.S.-China Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce shared insights on Silicon Valley’s industry trends and opportunities in the North American market; its extensive resource network spanning technology, manufacturing, and global brand expansion offers robust support for Shenzhen enterprises looking to expand overseas.

Bao’an holds a distinct advantage in the fields of smart wearables and AI, boasting a complete manufacturing chain that spans from chips to finished devices; companies can source 90% of their components without leaving the district. New platforms such as the recently unveiled “Embodied Intelligence Hub” are attracting leading enterprises, and combined with targeted policy support, they enable ideas to be rapidly transformed into mass-producible products. The district is not only a manufacturing powerhouse but also an ideal testing ground for new technologies to transition from blueprints to the market.

This event was meticulously organized to facilitate scenario-based matchmaking between Chinese and international companies. Participating firms engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as technological collaboration, market expansion, supply chain integration, and cross-border incubation. Shenzhen-based companies showcased innovative achievements in AI-powered wearables and smart apparel, leveraging Shenzhen’s manufacturing strengths to focus on cross-language interaction, health monitoring, and scenario-based applications. Meanwhile, Silicon Valley firms shared insights on AI R&D, North American market channels, and brand incubation. Both sides reached multiple cooperation agreements in areas such as smart hardware, AI applications, and global brand expansion.

The targeted matchmaking session yielded fruitful results, with both sides reaching consensus on multiple cooperation initiatives. Several specific directions were identified on-site, including establishing long-term cooperation mechanisms; exploring the joint construction of R&D centers and brand exhibition spaces in Bao’an; building online communication platforms; opening up channels for product supply and demand matching; and expanding cooperation into diverse fields such as building materials and mobile devices.

Moving forward, all parties will accelerate the implementation of pending tasks. Leveraging long-term mechanisms as a bond and online platforms as support, they will promote the deep integration of technology, capital, and industry. This will elevate Shenzhen’s smart manufacturing to global prominence, help Silicon Valley innovation take root in the Greater Bay Area, and write a new chapter in Sino-U.S. industrial cooperation.

It is reported that the event was held at the Huizhi R&D Center in Xixiang Subdistrict, Bao’an District—Shenzhen’s first headquarters base for specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprises. With a total floor area of approximately 310,000 square meters, the center focuses on industries such as artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing. According to recent reports, the park empowers enterprises through a “funding + application scenarios + space” one-stop service model, having attracted nearly 90 high-quality companies to set up operations there. By 2025, the park’s output value is projected to reach nearly 9 billion yuan.
