When it comes to China’s watch industry, look to Shenzhen; when it comes to Shenzhen’s watch industry, look to Guangming; and the heart of Guangming’s watch industry lies in Matian.

On June 26, the 31st Shenzhen (China) Watch Week and the 2026 Wearable Innovation Expo will kick off at the Shenzhen Futian Convention and Exhibition Center. As the home of “Time Valley”—a national-level watch industry cluster—Matian Subdistrict in Shenzhen’s Guangming District has meticulously organized a joint exhibition featuring three leading enterprises from the area. This initiative offers global buyers a comprehensive showcase of the Greater Bay Area’s complete industrial chain capabilities, ranging from precision manufacturing and surface finishing to original brand design.
Today, the “Time Valley” area in Matian has attracted a large number of well-known enterprises and supporting manufacturers, including Fiyta, Tianwang, Yibo, Bernie, Xinghuang, and Senfeng. The vertical industrial ecosystem that has taken shape here—spanning movement R&D, precision machining, vacuum coating, and finished product assembly—is emerging as a key starting point for China’s watch industry as it transitions from “manufacturing going global” to “brands going global.”
Also shining at the exhibition was Star Emperor Watches, founded in 1992. As an independent brand that integrates R&D, production, and sales and possesses the capability to manufacture core movements (including tourbillons), Star Emperor Watches has in recent years introduced carbon fiber into high-end mechanical watches, seamlessly integrating it with its independently developed skeletonized automatic tourbillon movement and overcoming the technical challenge of balancing lightweight construction with timekeeping stability. Its carbon fiber tourbillon watches have won numerous international accolades, including the Gold Award for Product Design at the MUSE Design Awards, as well as awards from the New York Design Awards and the IDA Design Awards, vividly demonstrating the deep integration of traditional watchmaking with modern digital manufacturing.

Homegrown Brands Impress: Rising Chinese Brands Win Over Overseas Buyers
At this year’s Watch Week, local independent brands from Matian Subdistrict will demonstrate strong international competitiveness.
Founded in 1995, Matian’s flagship independent brand—BERNY—has dedicated the past three decades to watch design and manufacturing. At its booth, its flagship series of lightweight titanium mechanical watches drew crowds of domestic and international buyers. By blending “practicality” with “design aesthetics,” the brand’s diving watch and automatic mechanical watch series have built a vast overseas user community through international social media platforms such as Amazon and its own website. Its creation, *Flower Blossoms, Moon Round*, previously won the Grand Prize at the 5th MIYOTA China Watch Design Competition, making it a rising star among domestic brands that has drawn significant attention from overseas buyers at this year’s exhibition.

Breakthrough in Core Technology: Micrometer-Level Technology Breaks Foreign Monopoly
In addition to stunning finished watches, the Martin delegation will also showcase “cutting-edge” surface treatment technologies from the upstream segment of the supply chain.

Founded in 1998 with technical support from Tsinghua University, Senfeng Vacuum Coating has been deeply rooted in the watchmaking industry for nearly three decades and has accumulated more than 30 patents. Through micron-level precision control and nanoscale surface treatment, the company has broken foreign technological monopolies, endowing high-end watch components with a dazzling appearance and exceptional corrosion resistance. It serves as a strategic partner to many renowned enterprises in Time Valley.
Notably, in recent years, Senfeng has extended this cutting-edge technology to the smart wearables sector, unveiling at the exhibition a new line of coatings that combine a matte finish with dazzling color gradients, while offering wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. This innovation—where technology leads fashion—not only broadens the application boundaries of traditional timepieces but also provides robust underlying process support for the development of smart wearable devices.
Government Full Support: “Concierge-Style” Full-Process Assistance Drives Clustering Effects
From a single watch hand to a full-fledged brand, the Martian delegation’s grand showcase at Watch Week reflects the governance wisdom of Martian Subdistrict in its all-out efforts to build a high-quality industrial space in “Time Valley.”
In recent years, Matian Subdistrict has adhered to a “concierge-style” end-to-end enterprise service model, meticulously supporting the growth of “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” enterprises within its jurisdiction. Leveraging the robust precision manufacturing heritage of Guangming Time Valley, Matian Subdistrict is continuously enhancing its reputation as the “Core Area of China’s Watch Capital” by strengthening, supplementing, and extending industrial chains.
Matian Subdistrict cordially invites colleagues from the global watch and smart wearable industries to visit the Time Valley/Matian exhibition area at the Futian Convention and Exhibition Center. “Starting from Matian, Shenzhen, we aim to show the world not only the precision of Chinese watches, but also the warmth of ‘Made in China’!”
