On June 16, a reporter from Securities Times learned at the exhibition venue that the 4th Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo and the 1st Artificial Intelligence Eyewear Expo 2026, themed “AI Vision, Deep-Chain Future,” officially opened. Xiao Duyu, Second-Level Inspector of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Also in attendance were Tan Jiebin, Second-Level Inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Ping Yuan, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.

Organized by the Shenzhen Commerce Federation and the Shenzhen AI Glasses Industry Alliance, this year’s exhibition spans an area of 22,500 square meters. The AI glasses exhibition area alone covers 7,500 square meters, attracting more than 300 renowned domestic and international eyewear companies, as well as smart wearable and AI glasses firms. The event is expected to draw over 50,000 professional visitors. The opening ceremony of the expo featured numerous highlights, including the launch of a 2 billion yuan AI terminal industry fund (dedicated to AI glasses), the release of general technical requirements standards for AI glasses, and the unveiling of a list of industry-specific demand and supply scenarios for AI glasses. The “Guangdong Goods Go Global” Summer Campaign’s eyewear-themed promotional event was also launched simultaneously at the venue.

Xiao Duyu stated that China possesses the world’s most comprehensive eyewear manufacturing industrial chain and the most dynamic AI application ecosystem. Promoting cross-industry integration and mutual empowerment between the two is not only a concrete implementation of the national “AI+” initiative but also an inevitable choice for the eyewear industry’s transformation and upgrading toward high-end, intelligent, and green development. Currently, China’s AI eyewear industry is at a critical juncture, transitioning from “breakthroughs in individual products” to “ecosystem building.” He expressed the hope that government departments and enterprises would: first, adhere to innovation-driven development and strengthen the technological foundation; second, reinforce standard-led development and build an open ecosystem; and third, deepen application in real-world scenarios and unlock consumer potential.
Tan Jiebin stated that hosting the eyewear-themed event as part of the “Guangdong Goods Go Global” Summer Campaign is not only a concrete measure to implement the work arrangements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to accelerate the development of the ultra-high-definition video industry, but also a practical step to help Shenzhen accelerate its development as the “World’s Leading City for AI Eyewear” and promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the traditional eyewear industry, and serves as a crucial opportunity to further drive the deep integration of eyewear devices with ultra-high-definition video technology, thereby fostering new scenarios and business models that combine “smart hardware and ultra-high-definition audiovisual experiences.” He expressed hope that enterprises would remain committed to quality, boldly serve as the vanguard of integrated innovation, and deeply integrate traditional manufacturing techniques and fashion design with cutting-edge technologies such as ultra-high-definition video and artificial intelligence. By continuously optimizing the audiovisual experience of smart eyewear, they should create more high-quality products that lead in technology, offer outstanding user experiences, and provide exceptional value for money. Leveraging the platform of this event, he urged them to bring Guangdong’s innovatively integrated eyewear products to broader markets.

It is reported that this year’s exhibition will last three days and will be held concurrently with the 2026 AI Eyewear Ecosystem Conference (Shenzhen), the “Integration·Eyewear” China-Europe Pioneering Dialogue on Eyewear Design, the 2026 Shenzhen International Eyewear (Smart Wearables) Design Competition, over 50 new product launches, 100 global sourcing presentations, the Shenzhen (Longgang) Manufacturing Global Product Selection Fair, the Shenzhen Eyewear Enterprise Exploration Tour, supply-demand matching sessions, investment promotion conferences, and 10 other themed events. Among these, the 2026 AI Eyewear Ecosystem Conference, themed “Beyond the Path of Light, Unveiling Extraordinary Intelligence,” will feature keynote speeches, achievement presentations, application case sharing, and partnership signing ceremonies. It will bring together academicians, experts, and corporate representatives from home and abroad for in-depth discussions on topics such as technological R&D, standard-setting, capital support, and practical implementation.
This expo has established a platform for showcasing the integration of the traditional eyewear industry with smart technologies. It serves not only as a valuable initiative by Shenzhen to drive industrial innovation but also as a vivid illustration of China’s eyewear industry transitioning from “scale leadership” to “technology leadership.”
